FOSTERING SAVES LIVES

donotdelete_1

NTBHR relies on volunteer fosters to care for our rescued Basset Hounds. We do not have a shelter facility. In a foster home our dogs are a part of an actual family. This enables each dog to become well socialized with other dogs and people. This interaction provides a healthier environment for the dog, ultimately enabling a smoother transition into an adoptive home where children and other dogs are likely.

Fostering is a rewarding experience for everyone involved. Not only do foster parents nurture and care for their dog, there is the added benefit of receiving the love and attention right back from the dog you nurture. Many families foster as a way to teach their children about compassion and responsibility.

People who choose to foster feel good knowing they are making a difference, every minute and every day, in the life of a Basset. Their time spent with a little inconvenience turns quickly into a rewarding, educational, challenging, and fun experience they will never forget. While it's true that fosters do get very attached to their animals, they also find a special joy in sending a pet to a wonderful new family.

We are in urgent need of additional foster families. If you would like to become a foster home for NTBHR, please complete our foster application and our foster coordinator will contact you. There are few acts more heart-warming than helping to save the life of a loving Basset Hound.

Please consider becoming a Foster Family for NTBHR.

You provide the love...........

...........We provide the healthcare.

North Texas Basset Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing stray and unwanted bassets, providing veterinary care and placing them in loving homes.

We cooperate with animal shelters throughout North Texas.

We are operated solely by volunteers. Each year we rescue approximately 80-100 basset hounds.
